Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.

This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This course is developed for to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allen's Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 by Yamba Grafton First Aid.

The following unit(s) wil be awarded to successful participants in this course. The certificate will be issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.

  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting
  • HLTAID003 Provide first Aid
  • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID001 Proivde Cardiopulmonary Resusitation

  • Blended delivery - 6 hours face to face course - with the addition of 2 hours self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course.
  • Face to Face - 8 hours - full face to face course
  • Refresher training - 6 hours - You will need to provide previous current certificates.

Participants undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessments which include the following: Performance Tasks, Practical Scenarios and Theory Assessments consisting of multiple choice questions.

The participant must successfully complete all Performance Tasks, Practical Scenarios and Theory Assessments in order to be deemed competent. 

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
